Sheona is a druid.

Backstory

When Sheona was a small child, barely able to speak, her home village was raided by bandits. Many people died, but she managed to escape into the surrounding wilds. There, she encountered a circle of druids, and she cried to them for help.

As the village people made their living logging and hunting, the druids were not eager to help. They did, however, decide the children were innocent and, with Sheona's help, rounded up the surviving orphans and raised them.

Sheona grew up as a bitter child, having seen the harsh side of the world at such a young age. On some level she resented the druids who raised her, for they refused to hunt down the bandits, believing they served as a natural balancing force against the increasing industrialization of the area. Still, she never ran away, as she had nowhere else to go.

As to be expected, the druids raised Sheona herself to be a druid. She eagerly accepted this power from nature, as she knew it would one day let her have revenge. In particular, she practiced the summoning of animals, hoping to one day create an army to wreak her vengeance.

Her skill at summoning came in handy in the few times someone came to challenge the druids or exploit the protected zones, with her packs of wolves joining the other summoned animals and animal companions to drive off intruders.

When the time came to select her animal companion, Sheona would have eagerly accepted a bear for herself, had she the power to create such a bond. Instead, she bonded with not just one bobcat, but a mother and her only surviving cub. This extraordinary feat earned her credit in the druid circles. They say she earned this with her vigilance in protecting the circle even in her youth.

Sheona came to rely heavily on her animal companions, along with those that she summoned. She summoned to scare away or fight intruders. She summoned animals when she was bored, simply to entertain herself. The latter did not earn her much favor, though most druids were willing to overlook her shenanigans due to her skill.

When the day came and she was finally an adult, Sheona tried to leverage all the credit she had gained from the skill and favor from nature she displayed. She wanted to use the reluctant druids to get her belated revenge. They proved too stubborn for her, but she remained determined. Sheona would just have to do it alone, more or less.

She tracked down the bandits who originally raided her birth village. Their other surviving victims made it all too easy to learn their whereabouts, even if the local law was almost afraid to do anything about them. As it had been so many years, the raiders' numbers had been whittled down, and many had gotten old.

That made it easy for her.

Sheona communed with local wolf packs, bending them to her service. She also summoned wolf after wolf, expending almost all of her magical power to create an enormous pack. She then directed them after the bandit encampment, and it was an incredible bloodbath. With her remaining magic, she summoned fire to burn the place down, taking many survivors with it. Her faithful bobcat companions hid in the brush outside the camp, ambushing any who fled. As far as Sheona knew, she was the only one who walked away from that slaughter.

Of course, Sheona could not hide such a slaughter from the druids on their own lands, so she had to face down the circle. They decided, quickly and unanimously, to banish her. She didn't even bother to defend herself, already knowing how stubborn her fellow druids could be in their "balance".

The lesson Sheona took from this all was not one that most people would say made her a better person. Her already deep-seated bitterness became only deeper, and she became as ruthless as could be, though not to the point of outright evil. It ran to the point where she considered nearly every other druid to be a problem, believing them foolish and wasteful of their power.

Sheona became a free spirit, liberated both from the fetters her old druid circle would put on her, and from what most people conceive of as morality. She would do what she wanted with her power, when she wanted, and damn anyone who would stop her.
